Coordinator, French PI
Université de Tours, CeTHiS
Richard Faure is Professeur des universités at Université de Tours, at the Centre tourangeau d’histoire et d’étude des sources. He has extensively worked on interrogation, exclamation and subordination. He led a project on exclamation and intersubjectivity (2013-2017) and was the PI of an interdisciplinary project on time, funded by the UCAJEDI IDEX. His habilitation thesis was on complement clauses, where he developed original hypotheses around the distribution of complement clauses, depending on their case and their referential properties. He specializes in Greek and French and thus his import on the empirical side will be from these two languages. On the theoretical side, he is a syntactician and works mostly at the interface with semantics and pragmatics and the transcription of ideas from one field into another. He is also interested in enlarging the typological import of his hypotheses through linguistic comparison.
